Raskulls at the Mana Bar
February 23rd 2010

News of the Mana Bar has spread rapidly over the last few weeks. The Mana Bar is a Australia’s first video game bar, where customers can come in to enjoy a drink, relax and if it takes their fancy, try their hand at one of several games which will be playable free of charge. The creators are Yug from Australian Gamer, Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation and their business partners Pras Moorthy and Shay Leighton.
I’ve visited Yug at the Mana Bar in its pre-complete state, and it’s shaping up very nicely. Plenty of game-related stuff lines the walls, and in the recent addition to the “making of” photo gallery on Facebook, you can see a nice shot of King in all his glory, overlooking the booze and games. He’ll likely be standing guard for a long time to come!
The Mana Bar will be opening on March 20th, and you can expect support from Halfbrick as well as Raskulls. I’ll be sure to post more Mana Bar updates as we come closer to launch! Follow the below link to the official website:

A New Challenger!
February 19th 2010

AlternativeUlster from NeoGAF contributed his own design for a Raskulls box art as we move ahead with the competition. It clearly embodies all of the sensibilities that modern gamers have, and I’d certainly like to see the style evolve in future Raskulls games. Perhaps something like “Raskulls IV: Death Loves Graffiti, Bizzoy!”
Can you dig it? Dynamite!
If you want to contribute your own designs and fan art I’ll happily post them for the world to see. Simply email raskulls [at] halfbrick [dot] com to get in touch!

Wallpaper your life: with fun!
February 15th 2010

The artwork of Raskulls is something everyone is very proud of, especially the characters. Creating skulls that are cute and endearing was challenging, but everyone agrees that they look amazing.
That’s why we created a set of three Raskulls wallpapers for your viewing pleasure. They were created specifically to be wallpapers, so we didn’t mess around and made them a whopping 1920 x 1080 size. Even if you are computing around on a 50″ Plasma, these will look sharp as something really, super sharp.
They are available for view in the Media section, but you can simply click on the links below to check them out and download right away. Which is your favorite?
King and his Kingly Admirers
Ninja plotting against Pompous
King in a moral battle
Believe in the Teapot

Mr. Destructoid joins Raskulls!
February 3rd 2010
Raskulls has been in development for some time now, and we’re on the final stretch getting everything ready to really blow you away upon release! One of the latest additions to Raskulls is none other than Mr. Destructoid, a cute robot character who is the mascot for popular gaming blog Destructoid. Their team likes to sink their teeth into coverage of new IP and indie games, and Raskulls stood out as being a strong title which could benefit from the addition of this great character.
Mr. Destructoid will be unlockable during the single player Mega Quest story, along with many more members of the Raskulls cast. We’re looking forward to seeing it in action during online multiplayer! Let us know your thoughts on just how adorable Mr. Destructoid is, and which other characters would fit great with the Raskulls team!
Simply hit the video above to check out the announcement trailer featuring heaps of new gameplay footage with action coming out the wazoo!

The Legacy of Pimpskull
February 2nd 2010

We have a giant board of characters that never made the cut. Some were awful, some were truly amazing, and some would have resulted in lawsuits. This is not on of those characters. This is Pimpskull.
In a league of his own, Pimpskull was a pretty righteous dude. Clearly we took his design to the next level, beyond a simple two inch sketch. He even received the coloring treatment! It turned out though, in the Raskulls world, there wasn’t too much need for pimping, and he was regrettably moved aside in favor of characters with more depth. Dragon never says a word, yet reveals more about his character and personality than anyone would ever expect, and becomes an unlikely hero! King says a lot of words, and is also a hero, but in his own “special” way.
So for now, Pimpskull will remain on the sidelines. A worthy addition to Raskulls 2? You can help decide by letting us hear your character requests!
